We've already had some rather high profile indie, folk and dubstep artists in the shop recently, not to mention a special instore performance from Jeremy Warmsley (new album out now!).

Well, we'll be visited by Laura Marling on Saturday November 1st at 5pm. We believe she'll be playing an acoustic set, but we'll keep you updated on the specifics.

And on Nov 19th, Less Than Jake will be making an appearance, again from 5pm (TBC), and they'll be nice enough hang about the shop signing cds and the like.  

Promises to be a lot of fun, and as always, we run a first come, first served policy with access to the shop during events like these, so mae sure you have time to browse before the musicians make their appearances... there's plenty of great new music to be had!

Here at Avalanche Glasgow, award winning "home to the stars", we pride ourselves on having the finest taste in music. Our ears can taste genius. Our Doctors are baffled, but they remain impressed.

So, with that in mind, why not take a gander at our newly updated charts! If you buy the CDs we recommend, you will never be unhappy again.

The Independent have confirmed what we knew all along: Our prices can't be beat! They recently ran a feature based on purchasing the Mercury Music Prize nominee titles, and just ahead of Sister Ray in London, we we're revealed to be the cheapest indie store in the UK!

Independent : Record Breaker

Multi-million selling superstar Moby popped in to Avalanche Glasgow this week, entertaining us with an hour long DJ set. Our resident photographer, journalist and retailer Alex captured the event for our website. Everyone in attendance had the opportunity to meet Moby, who was happily signing all manner of cds, flyers, and even an iPhone! Here's how it all went down...

I think we're now safe to announce that the one and only, multi-million selling MOBY will be appearing in our store for an exclusive DJ set and signing session! 

From 4pm till 5pm on Tuesday July 22nd, MOBY will take over Avalanche Glasgow!

Hello everyone! I'm happy to announce that our new website is finally live! You will probably notice that we're being hosted on someone elses web space for now, which is giving us time to do some testing on our webshop! Exciting times! We'll have lots more to tell you about over the coming months...

It took much longer to get this site online that we planned thanks to the amazing new releases from the likes of Crystal Castles, Lyykel Li, Atlas Sound, Dennis Wilson, Weezer, Guapo, Dubstep Allstars 6, Fleet Foxes, Portishead, Spiritualized, and the rest. Good times for music lovers, and if you throw in the current Euro 2008 fitba bonanza, it's already shaping up to be a great summer. Well, despite the weather that is. Rain in June?!! WTF!?!?!

Anyway, we've got a lot planned for our "internet presence" over the coming weeks, months and years, but for now, here's Uncle Lenny with a little ditty you may or may not know....
